Bush touts public funds for private, inner-city schools

As I was looking for an article this week I found one in the yahoo news. It talked about President Bush wanting to spend the money, that is used by the district programs, should be spend on inner-city schools. That money that is spend by the district program is wasted on public funds like on private, religious schools. Bush said that inner-city schools are closing “at an alarming rate.” Bush said that the government has given enough money for colleges and universities. They should give the money to the schools that really need the money. Bush also asked that “why don’t we use the same philosophy to provide federal funds to help inner-city families find greater choices in educating their children?” I agree with him because the families need the money so they could send their kids to school. A law that was created helped many students by given them money. I think that more money should be use in schools that need it so they could fix the schools, and build new ones. Many students don’t get to go to school because they are to crowed. The money should also help the families that needed, so they could send their kids to school.

Political Cartoon

The political cartoon that I'm dong is about the campaign and elections. There is an alley and two people are fighting. A couple passes by and they see the fight. They ask themselves if they should call the police and they said no because its only Obama and Hilary discussion politics. McCain already won, Hillary and Obama are still debating. They have been fighting through out the their campaign. When they are debating they never agree on anything. They different ideas and each of them want to win they want to be president. Their ideas on politics are very different so that’s why they are arguing; they want their voice to be heard. I believe that they both have good ideas for the country and be should consider them when we go to vote. I want Obama to win because I think that he will make a change and will bring many good ideas to the country. When there is a debate between Obama and Hilary people automatically think that they will have an argument. Since there hasn’t been a black and a women run for president Hilary and Obama want to win. They should keep on trying and the best will win.

Bush sends Congress Colombia trade pact

I found an article in the yahoo news that talked about congress receiving a U.S.-Colombia free trade agreement from President Bush. They must vote “ within 90 legislative days.” Bush wants to continue the free trade agreement with Columbia. People oppose to this agreement because they think that they need to make new free trade deals. Many democrats think that they have not “ done enough to halt violence, protect labor activist and demobilize paramilitary organizations. The president disagreed, saying that Colombia has addressed the issues.” They insist that this deal will be good for the United States economically. This will take away some of the problems they have when they trade with other countries. Many think that this is a good idea because it will be beneficial to the economic problems of the United States. Clinton said that she would not sign any agreements with Colombia. Bush said that if we don’t have this agreement the Venezuela President Hugo Chavez would have a chance to “cast the United States as untrustworthy and impotent across South America.” Some will sign but after perpetrators are brought to justice. They should discuss on this issue before it is time to decide what they are going to do.

Public campaign money question closer to ballot

I found an article in the yahoo news that talked about public money. Public money is money that comes from taxpayers. This money is used when use by the government so they could give it to the candidates. They are deciding whether “public money should continue to be used in campaigns for governor and Cabinet officers.” If the don’t pass this constitutional amendment another bill will be passed. This bill will automatically limit public financing to “$5 million in races for governor and $2 million in Cabinet races.” Many people are against using taxpayer’s money for their campaigns. There was an amendment that was passed 10 years ago that repeals to this new one. They should be using the taxpayer’s money for something else instead of their campaigns. The money could help people that need the money, or they could build more schools. There is another identical bill “working its way through committees.” People against this say that if they do this the people are not going to give away money only the rich people will donate money for their own interest. The senators need the money so they ill take the money form the rich people.

Obama, Clinton Supporters Would Vote for McCain if Candidate Loses

Supporters from Barrack Obama and Hilary Clinton are going to throw their votes to Republican John McCain. People that were going to vote for Obama said that they were going to vote for McCain over Clinton. And 28 percent of Clinton’s supporters said that they were going to switch their votes to the Republican nominee. If Obama or Clinton loose many Democratic voters will vote for McCain. A lot of supporters of Clinton will rather vote for a Republican than to Obama. Some of Obama's supporters are more willing to vote for Clinton than to a Republican. I think that it’s nice that they support their candidates but some just don’t want to vote for another democratic candidate. If they are really democrats then they should just vote the democratic candidate that is left, rather than McCain. John McCain has a better chance of winning because he could have support from the democrats. People should just vote for the person they support the most.

kidnapped Iraqui archbishop is dead

As I was reading some articles I read about the archbishop that was killed. His name was Paulos Faraj Rahho and was the Chaldean Catholic archbishop. He was kidnapped last month when he was heading home. They found him Thursday “ buried in the southeastern part of the city.” When he was kidnapped the car had bullets and “ two of his bodyguards were killed.” He was shot on the leg and then shoved into the trunk of the car. He got out his cell phone, called the church and told them to don’t pay anything for his release. He suffered from health problems, like “ high blood pressure and diabetes.” So they think that maybe that he died of natural cause because he didn’t had signs of violence. He might have died because he was sick, but he suffered while he was kidnapped. I think that what happened to him was sad. There have also been other deaths going on around there. There had been attacks on Christian churches. People need to be careful because they might also be kidnapped and killed. Iraq is going thru many difficult times, a car bomb exploded and now the archbishop is dead.

Contest leave Democratic race up in the air

I read an article in CNN and it said that Hilary Clinton won in Ohio, Texas, and Rhode Island, and senator Barack Obama won in Vermont. Obama latest delegate was 1,520 and Clinton had 1,424. They must win 2.025 delegates. But since they have almost the same number of delegates then the convention will be in August. The next primary is seven weeks away, were Pennsylvania, Wyoming and Mississippi will vote. Clinton has support from governor, Ed Rendell. Senator John McCain is now the Republican nominee. Clinton and Obama are still fighting against each other, and they are also fighting against McCain. Obama said, “ I think that I am in a much stronger position to run against the Republican than she is, otherwise I wouldn’t be running for president.” Obama thinks that he is a better candidate than Clinton, and thinks that he will be a better president. I think that Obama should be the candidate that should run against McCain. Clinton won in Florida and Michigan but they violated the primary rules. They had their primaries earlier that they supposed to. Now Florida wants to have another presidential primary, but they need to pay.
