Abolish The Death Penalty In Nebraska

Senator Ernie Chamber's bill LB1063 suggested that people should go to prison forever or life in prison without the possibility of parole. This bill failed by just one vote. Nebraska is the only state that uses the electric chair. The court now says that it is a "cruel and unusual punishment". Now people are saying the same thing about the lethal injection. They should get rid of the death penalty. Senator Ernie Camber's bill was a good idea, because it got rid of the death penalty. People who commit first-degree murder should only be sent to prison not killed. Sometimes they don't commit the crime and are still killed. The electric chair makes more people suffer and its painful. The lethal injection should be a not painful and fast death. But it is not like that, some prisoners could feel everything that is going on. They shouldn't kill prisoners that committed murder because they are doing the same thing. They should just be sent to life in prison.

This violates the eight amendment and I agree with you that people should go to prison for life instead of making them die in the electrical chair. You never know if a person is innocent and they die being innocent. This also is an issue with juveniles since they are judged as an adult and also penalized with cruel punishments.
